“And then I got to watch it again because I introduced it to Snookie, Nicole,” JWoww told PEOPLE on the red carpet.

She added that her fellow MTV star, 37, was “so upset she couldn't be here tonight,” saying the self-proclaimed “meatball” became “a super fan” of the series.

“Now the fact that we get to watch the original story? I'm so excited,” she continued.

According to JWoww, if both friends could have been at the premiere together on Wednesday, they would have been “screaming” while they watched.

The television personality then explained Snooki's absence.

“Her son Angelo is sick,” JWoww said of the 5-year-old.

Snooki shares Angelo James with husband Jionni LaValle. The couple are also parents to son Lorenzo Dominic, 11, and daughter Giovanna Marie, 10.

“I felt so bad, she texted me (at) like 2 o'clock today, like, 'I am so mad,' ” JWoww told PEOPLE. “She even — she's gonna kill me for saying this — she left the group chat because she was so mad. She's like, 'Bye, I can't know any spoilers.' ,

While the original series saw Michael C. Hall as the lead, the 53-year-old actor will assume the title of “narrator” for the prequel in which Patrick Gibson becomes his younger version, explaining how his serial killer ways came to be.
