Now to create a PAN card in an instant, you will not have to worry too much and also do not have to pay any fee for it. In fact, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday formally launched the facility of immediate allocation of PAN cards using Aadhaar-based e-KYC. This facility is now available to all Permanent Account Number (PAN) applicants who have a valid Aadhaar number and who have a mobile number registered in the UIDAI database.
6.7 Lakh Instant Pan Card Allotted to Taxpayers
For information, let us know that the allocation process issued on real-time basis is paperless and an electronic PAN (e-PAN) is issued to the applicants by the Income Tax Department for free. The instant PAN facility even though Gurupari Kare was formally launched today, but its ‘beta version’ has been available on the IT department’s e-filing website since February on a trial basis.
In a release, the Income Tax Department said that over 6.7 lakh instant PAN cards have been allocated to taxpayers since the beta version. The process of applying for an instant PAN card is very simple. Go to the e-filing website of the Income Tax Department, share your Aadhaar number and submit the OTP received on the Aadhaar registered mobile number. A 15-digit acknowledgment number will be received upon completion of this process. Once the allotment is made, the e-PAN card can be downloaded from the portal. When registered with Aadhaar, the e-PAN is also sent to the email ID of the applicant.
The Income Tax Department recently said that a total of 50.52 crore PAN cards have been allocated to taxpayers so far, of which over 32.17 crores have been certified by Aadhaar. As per the guidelines of the Income Tax Department, people are required to link their PAN card to Aadhaar by 30 June 2020. The department has allowed all income taxpayers to use their Aadhaar number in lieu of PAN.
