Andy Cohen is weighing in on Karen Huger's guilty verdict following her March DUI arrest.
Huger, 61, was charged with a DUI and DWI, negligently driving a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner endangering property, life, and person, as well as recklessly driving a vehicle in wanton and willful disregard for the safety of persons and property in March after she was pulled over by police in Maryland.
She was found guilty on all charges except reckless driving, her rep told PEOPLE on Dec. 18, and Cohen now tells PEOPLE of the news, “I think it's all sad.”
“I haven't really processed it yet,” he said at SiriusXM's 10th Annual Radio Andy Holiday Hangout at the SiriusXM Fishbowl in New York City on Thursday, Dec. 19. “But I think it's very sad.”
The Montgomery County Police Department previously confirmed to PEOPLE that Huger had been involved in a single-vehicle collision in Potomac on March 19. Authorities said the television personality crossed a median and struck multiple street signs but was not injured at the time of the crash.
She was charged with multiple counts, including failure to control vehicle speed on the highway to avoid a collision, driving a vehicle in excess of reasonable and prudent speed on the highway, driving a vehicle on the highway with suspended registration, and failure to notify administration. of change of address within 30 days.
Following her guilty verdict this week, the Real Housewives of Potomac star's attorney, A. Scott Bolden, told PEOPLE exclusively in a statement, “Although we are disappointed in the jury's verdict, we of course respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case.”
“We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger's right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf,” Bolden, a partner at Reed Smith law firm told PEOPLE. “We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time.”
The police body cam footage from Huger's arrest was released after her guilty verdict, and several local news outlets shared the footage, which showed the mom of one dodge questions from police about “how much” she drank before getting in her car.
When her husband Ray Huger said he was “assuming” she had “a couple of beers or something,” Karen said, “Yes, that's all I had.”
