However, his unfinished renovation plans reportedly received some backlash from locals after it was left sitting for years without any progress.

“It is one of the biggest eyesores in the area. People are fed up with it. Damien Hirst has had this property for 17 years now, but it is still clad in scaffolding and tarpaulin, and as far as we can tell there is no restoration in sight,” former Toddington Parish Council chairman Nigel Parker told the outlet at the time.

Toddington Manor is currently listed on Historic England's “Heritage at Risk” registerPer the listing, the home was “mothballed” for years before a new owner, Hirst, purchased it.

“The house was mothballed for more than 15 years, but has been purchased by a new owner who engaged in an extensive program of urgent works and repairs in consultation with the Local Planning Authority and Historic England,” the listing states.
